Blue Economy and sustainability in the Adriatic: the 6 solutions of the IN4BLUE project presented in Udine

The regional phase of IN4BLUE, a European project funded by the Interreg Italy-Croatia 2021-2027 Programme in which we participated, has concluded in Udine.English Promoted by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, with the technical support of the TEC4I FVG innovation hub and the collaboration of the Polo Tecnologico Alto Adriatico, the initiative demonstrated how the intersection of the creative sector, digital technologies, and businesses can accelerate the green transition of the maritime economy.

The co-creation process, developed between June 2025 and April 2026 through workshops and regional laboratories, saw professionals and businesses working side by side on concrete challenges related to tourism, materials, and resource management.

This experience enabled us to bring together diverse expertise, explore new opportunities for innovation, and transform project ideas into concrete solutions for a more sustainable and resilient Blue Economy.

The 6 solutions developed during the programo

The collaboration yielded six innovative models and tools designed for the Adriatic region:

  • SENSE BOARD: modular sensory panels to improve acoustic and visual comfort in high-traffic tourist hospitality environments.
  • SEE THE SEA: an analytical model designed to assess the environmental impact of materials used in the marine industry, promoting circular solutions.
  • CUMBININ: a digital platform that redistributes coastal tourist flows toward alternative routes, reducing pressure on overcrowded destinations.
  • KLUYSKIN: a cosmetic packaging system that optimizes product dispensing, combining eco-friendly materials and waste reduction.
  • G-Ap: an interactive physical-digital device to make access to cultural content in museums and info points more dynamic, updatable, and sustainable.
  • LIQUID TIME: a water recirculation and filtration technology designed to significantly reduce water consumption in tourism and wellness facilities.
