FRIULI INNOVAZIONE
ESTABLISHED IN SCIENCE PARK OF UDINE
HELPS CHILDREN IN CHAD
There is even room for solidarity at the Science and Technology Park of Udine towards the population in Africa, particularly regarding the children of Chad. Turval Laboratories, specialized in the research and production of probiotics which are also used by the Italian military that participate in overseas missions, has joined the international project “paediatricians and nurses at the hospital in Chad.” The initiative aims, as explained by Colonel Antonio Masetti, medical officer of the Directorate-General for Military Health speaking at San Benedetto del Tronto for the internship training on specific diseases in Sub-Saharian Africa, at the formation of the work group “Pediatrics for big emergencies” who in turn will train health personnel in the Italian hospital of N’Djamena.
“We too wanted to be sponsors and speakers,” explained Turval’s Alessandro Turello, “for the only company in the industry, both as an act of solidarity for a part of the world that has been suffering for too many years, and as a moment of human and professional growth.” The initiative was organized by the Società Italiana Medici Emergenza Pediatrica (Italian Pediatric Emergency Physicians Society) and sustained by the Senate of the Republic through the Onlus Mamma Italia association. At the San Benedetto del Tronto seminar for Turval, Dr. Alessia Lugano was present and did a report on the protective role of probiotics. Satisfaction for the initiative for international solidarity was expressed by Alberto Toffolutti, vice president of the Friuli Innovazione consortium, and by the director Fabio Feruglio.
