Scientific solidarity for Chad
The Scientific and Technological Park of Udine is participating in an effort of solidarity towards the people of Africa, and in particular, towards the children of Chad.
Turval Laboratories, specialized in the research and production of probiotics which also supplies the Italian military, has adhered to the international project “Pediatricians and nurses for the hospital of Chad”.
The initiative is aimed at creating a work group of “pediatricians for maxi-emergencies” which, in turn, will form the personnel which will work in the Italian hospital of N’Djamena.– explains Colonel Antonio Masetti, medical officer of the general direction of the Army Medical Corps in his intervention at the seminar on specific pathologies of the Sahara region of Africa held at San Benedetto del Tronto .
“We wanted to take part as sponsors and as spokesmen in an act of solidarity towards a part of the world which has been suffering for too many years as well to grow humanely and professionally ”points out Alessandro Turello of Turval Laboratories, the only Italian company in this sector.
The initiative was organized by the Italian Pediatric Emergency Doctors Association and sustained by the Senate of the Republic through the association ONLUS (non profit Italian social organization). At the seminar of San Benedetto del Tronto, Turval laboratories was represented by Dr. Alessia Lugano, who talked about the protective role of probiotics, and Dr. Teresa De Monte of Tolmezzo, who talked about the use of probiotics in gastrointestinal pathologies in pediatrics. The vice-president of the Friuli Innovation Association, Alberto Toffolutti and director Fabio Feruglio both expressed their satisfaction for the initiative of international solidarity.
